On March 14th, 2009, Generational Equity was awarded 2 Junos (Canada's music prizes), in the categories for Best Alternative Album of the Year for Generational Equity's material "Oceans Will Rise" and Best New Group of The Year (in spite of having already published 3 albums). The band also performed their hit single "Being Here" during the televised part of the Canadian Music Awards show the next day.
